I've owned this hat for a little over a year. I bought it in an outfitter's shop getting ready to kayak in the San Juan Islands (in October!) It was wonderful, keeping the wind out. It retains its shape when tightly packed and even a year later is not showing any wear. The reason I'm writing this is that I was further amazed by it just yesterday. I went for a two mile walk to a local coffee shop yesterday in a blistering 4 degree (F) day. I was decked out in a heavy coat, neck gaiter and the Wind Pro Hat. At no time during the trek did I experience even the slightest cold on my ears. Amazing Hat. I planning on checking out other Outdoor Research items (got my eye on some gloves), you should definitely take a look at this hat.

I have owned this hat for three years now and it has been the best. I have worn it on our coldest nights here in the Wasatch mountains and it has never let me down, keeps your ears really warm. Breathes very well, resists light rain but really excels in the snow. The low profile makes this hat great under a hood when the weather turns super foul. The hard face is durable and even now shows no wear despite rough packing and harsh midnight bushwhacks, I expect it will give me many more years of service. Pair this with an OR facemask like I do and your ready for just about anything the winter can throw at you!
